Beautiful You | The Art of Being a Lady

It's the beginning of the year, and I'm sure you all know someone that has written a sappy, insightful, quasi-inspired post. I have to say, now is a good a time as ever...

MMXVI was most definitely a year to remember. For me personally, it was a year of finding myself and figuring out what and who I wanted be. I'm a mother of three and a loving wife. It's been four wonderful years of learning and experiencing new things since. It's been four years of laughter, tears, and everything in between. At times I wished there was a manual to just instruct me on how to do things right the first time! But sadly, there is no such thing.

I'm caught between something interesting. I'm a twenty-four year old young adult, who has three children and a husband to care for, but also the spirit and desire of a young twenty-four year old. Wanting to do things young adults do, but at the same time be a responsible mature woman.

Thus began my search for something that would help me become a better woman, a better wife, a better mother. Most things I found in blogs or youtube channels were very much targeted to the thirty-five plus age group, and anything younger was,.. well too young! I had a hard time trying to relate to anything. For most, at twenty-four, one is usually still figuring out how to do laundry. Not only was the age non-applicable, but I couldn't find any content that would encompass everything I was looking for. I thought to myself, I can't be the only woman in the world to be looking for this type of information. Blogs were mostly on a single topic, such as elegance, or how to be a good housewife. But this wasn't was I needed. You can't care for others if you don't take care of yourself first and we can't teach what we don't know. Being a woman is much more than just something pretty to look at and housekeeping. I thought within myself, the days were woman had standards, modesty and beauty were long gone.

The 1940's housewife ideal is great, and there are certain things that still very much apply today. I also searched in men categories, which had surprisingly much more substantial content, kudos to them! How to be a "gentleman, standards of men, what makes a man." It seemed very clear to me that woman nowadays are more worried of what's on their face than what's in their brain. Or at least that's what "they" want us focusing on. It shouldn't be this way, what are we teaching our young girls then? Garbage, that's what.

In this blog, you'll travel with me on this journey through The Art of Being a Lady in 2017 and revive this long lost character building lifestyle. We'll cover everything from Style and Beauty to DIY's and Lifestyle, including wellness and personal growth.

In short, I decided to take it upon myself to create valuable content that is targeted to the woman who wants to better herself, who wants to grow in character, and beauty (inside and out.) Whether it be a better wife, sister, young adult or mother. We need to embrace womanhood and femininity, in order to become strong role models that our generations can look up to and follow. It all starts with us. Here's to MMXVII, a year of personal growth and honing it! Don't forget to subscribe for more of what's to come.

p.s. I will be beautifying the blog soon! So be on the look out for our new look.
